Southern Style Now at The Dewberry Hotel

Posted by Susan Sully | 2nd November 2018 | Uncategorised

The beautiful Jaimie Dewberry at Charleston’s glamorous Dewberry Hotel, host of Southern Style Now. Just heard a lecture with stylistas Wendy Goodman and Michael Hutton, moderated by Flower magazine’s Margot Shaw. The subject of glamour came up and there was a regretful consensus that it might be a thing of the past. Not so fast. One look at the Dewberry Hotel, a super chic redo of a 70s government building, confirms that glamour is still alive and well. Whenever I go there, I have flashbacks of visiting my father’s office in Rockefeller Ctr in the 70s. Love the solid feel and texture of the slab wood paneling, the ivory sheer curtains, and the burnished brass hardware and lettering: RECEPTION, ELEVATORS. I feel totally elevated and well received every time I walk through the heavy plate glass doors.
