Sully studied architectural history under Vincent Scully at Yale University, where she honed her appreciation for the beauty and significance of the built environment. She is equally intrigued by classical and vernacular architecture and the ways these find modern expression. In her books, she interweaves humanism with scholarship to offer unique and inspiring perspectives on the surroundings we create for ourselves. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina, where she offers weekly and private walking tours celebrating architecture as a window into the city’s rich history.
